Getting Around

Rent a bike, moped or Golf Cart. Taxis.

If you like walking this is a safe and beautiful place with lots of surprises to be discovered every day. Our little great island is only 5.5 miles long or 8 km.

You can rent a bike for about 200 pesos per day from 9 am to 7 pm. Mopeds are about 300 pesos for the day 9 am to 5 pm.
The golf carts rental price varies with the season. In low season it’s a little cheaper but it goes between 50 usd to 60 usd depending if you rent it for the day 9 am to 5 pm or for 24 hs.

For all the rentals you need to bring an ID.

I see a lot of people asking about drinking and driving. Right now there is a zero tolerance rule. And personally I am glad for this. Please if you choose to drive, don’t drink! If you choose to drink some of the fabulous cocktails all the bars and restaurants offer just take a taxi. Taxis are very cheap on the island, just agree the price with the driver before getting in and you will be completely safe and happy!

Where to Eat

When people ask me what my favourite restaurant on the island is, I can never mention only one! It depends on what kind of food you would like to have.

For mexican food I can recommend La Lomita for lunch in downtown. El Mercado, Los Amigos these are awesome. They all have authentic mexican food and also fresh seafood and fish
My favourite place for breakfast is Elements of the Island as they have home made bread and jams and some delicious dishes at a super reasonable price.

North Garden is one of my favourites for breakfast and lunch too, close to North beach, the food and drinks are amazing and they make you feel super welcome every time!

For Italian food, we have a lot on the island, my favourite place is Angelos! I like thin crust pizza, the arrachera steak and the pasta is amazing here, I have never been disappointed!

Seafood pasta at Mama Rosa is amazing too!

There are a few carts that sell fresh and super good tacos. By Casa de La Cultura is a cart in the parking lot and I love their tacos, and the new Santo Taco that sells shrimp tacos is amazing!

My favourite margaritas are served at Bally hoo, by the gas station pier, and the view is gorgeous!

Nightlife

There is also room for some party on our beautiful island!

On Hidalgo street in downtown, you can find many bars with live music that start normally between 8 pm and 10 pm. La Terraza and Tres Mentiras are 2 of my favourites. If you are looking for some dancing the beach bar at Pocna hostel is my favourite! Party here goes from 12 pm to 3 am. If after 3 am you still feel like more party you can go to Kokonuts on Hidalgo street, and El Santo Luchador (above Faynest restaurant)

So my plan for a perfect night would be: Dinner at one of the awesome restaurants, drinks at Tres Mentiras or another bar on Hidalgo and then dancing at the beach bar.
